Research Australia is an alliance of organisations dedicated to making health and medical research a higher national priority.
As a national not-for-profit advocate, our 160 member organisations include universities, research institutes, business, voluntary health and patient advocacy organizations, professional groups, hospitals and philanthropic foundations.
Together we advocate for growth in research funding and policies that will fast track Australian Research discoveries to deliver new cures or treatments. We aim to raise public support for research to improve health and build strong economy, and encourage governments and the public to become active champions for research.
Research Australia has four goals that support our mission:
- A society that is well informed and values the benefits of health and medical research
- Greater investment in health and medical research from all sources
- Ensure Australia captures the benefits of health and medical research
- Promote Australia's global position in health and medical research
